Giving Blood Pays!

Quanah High School hosted a blood drive in the QHS library Thursday, November 19, 2014.  QHS student body is completing for a $1500.00 scholarship to be given to the school our size with the highest student to donor ratio.  All drives throughout the school year will be applied to this total.   For this drive, all class officers and student council representatives and officers were to recruit  at least one donor.  Thirty one dedicated donors came out to save lives; 13 of those QHS students.  The totals from this drive were 21 whole blood donations, and 4 red blood cell donations.  Red Blood cell donations count as doubles for the total count of 29 units.

Those that came out were: Frank Fenoglio, Terry A. Allen, Cherisse Holt, Sammy Nuncio, Jimmy Boyd, Cameron Castleberry, Mary Roberts, Stella Doyal, Rodney Young, Jamie Talley, Josh Wilder, Jon Wiseman, Marissa Bowen, Macy Foster, Cathi Laughery, Jennifer Heidelberg, Daphanie Colbert, Dareus Johnson, Angel Leija, Taylor Brundige, Alli Coats, Kaleb Rozell, Toree Balch, Jackson Sparkman, Lynn Isnhower, JoAnn Evans, Stacey Robbins, Kristan Gaber, Lisa Naron, Chloe Coomes, and Ariana Cardenas.

The Local Masonic Lodge in efforts to help save lives decided to generously provide a $50.00 gas card to one of the donors at each drive.  All those that sign in are entered in the drawing.  The lucky winner at this drive was Taylor Brundige.

QHS Student Council encourages you to make plans to participate in our next drive in January.  Thank you for your support.
